Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh cricket team will enter T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Shakib Al Hasan
Bangladesh has announced its squad for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia next month. Under the captaincy of Shakib Al Hasan, it will go down with the intention of becoming the world champion for the first time. The board has announced a 15-member team. Along with this, the names of four players have also been given in standby. While the team has been announced by the board, the team will also participate in the tri-series with New Zealand and Pakistan. This tri-series will be held in New Zealand from October 7 to 14.
Mahmudullah out of team
Surprisingly, the former T20 captain of the team Mahmudullah Riyadh has not got a place. Right-handed wicket-keeper batsman Litton Das has returned to the team. Since the last T20 World Cup, he has been able to score only 182 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 103 and an average of 17. In the same Asia Cup, he scored just 52 runs at a strike rate of 106.12. There was a time when Mahmudullah was not only the team’s T20 captain but also the biggest player. He has played the maximum number of matches for the country but the board is currently working on the plan ahead. It is clearly visible that Mahmudullah is not a part of this plan.
Mohammad Naeem also out
Apart from Mahmudullah, Pervez Hussain, Anmul Haque, and Mohammad Naim have been dropped from the team after their disappointing performance in the Asia Cup. Apart from the team’s star batsman Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan are making a comeback in the team after the injury. Soumya Sarkar has also got a call but he has been kept on standby.
