career and achievements

Hartmann was born and grew up in the Ruhr area. From 1990 to 1994 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. He then worked for two years at the State Theater in Meiningen. He then played at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and from 1999 to 2006 at the Berlin Schaubühne.

Hartmann has only been involved in film and television productions since 2007. From 2010 to 2018 he played the role of MfS officer Falk Kupfer in the television series “Weissensee”, which made him famous as a television actor. In 2011 he received the German Television Award for the role.

Since 2012 he has been chief investigator Peter Faber im To see crime scene Dortmund. In 2015 he was awarded for his acting performance in the Tatort episode “Hydra” the German TV Crime Prize.

private life

Hartmann lives in Potsdam with his partner Silvia Medina and their two children. He has another child from a previous marriage to Simone Hartmann.

In a BILD interview, Hartmann states that he misses his homeland, the Ruhr area, very much. Although he lives in Potsdam, he is often drawn back to his roots. There he is involved, among other things, in preserving the building tradition.

Hartmann rarely reveals his private life, especially not on social media. When it comes to that, he’s very old-fashioned: “I don’t know what Facebook is for, I can’t do anything with Twitter either”. The actor could even imagine a smartphone ban in public.
