Pop star opens Reeperbahn Festival |

Ellie, you GOLD piece!

Hamburg – With HER, shine came to the Reeperbahn!

In a sexy sequin jumpsuit, pop star Ellie Goulding (35) opened the 17th “Reeperbahn Festival” in the neighborhood on Wednesday. It glittered and sparkled around the delicate Briton, who, despite being hoarse, had made the journey to the Elbe. BILD met the singer before her live performance in the Operettenhaus.

Ellie, you GOLD piece!

“I wouldn’t be standing here today without the music,” says Ellie. She became famous with the title song for the Sado Maso film “50 Shades of Grey”. Yesterday she was on stage for two songs, performed her current single “Easy Lover” – Germany live premiere!

Around 40,000 visitors are expected at the festival by Saturday, and 400 concerts are on the programme.

Does Ellie also sing privately? She: “Yes, for my son Arthur. Everything I can think of.” Then she sings a few tunes (and hits every note), laughs: “I wake him up with it in the morning. Sometimes he covers his ears, but sometimes he listens.”

It wasn’t the first time for the Brit in Hamburg. Ellie was here seven years ago, wowing her fans at the Barclaycard Arena.

Back then she was new to the business, now she’s a superstar. She also sees it this way: “Music is my life.”
