Sacrifice, Generosity and Goodness of Companions – The Kashmir News
Muhammad Hanif Tayyab
Eethar says to give priority to others in times of need. First, according to the companions of the Prophet (may peace be upon him), every habit is like that, if even a part of the reward is given to a lucky person, it is a blessing, but some habits are like this. They are distinguished because they had their own characteristics. The Almighty praised the self-sacrifice of the Companions in the word of Allah: “Wathrun Ali Anfsham Walukan Bhum Khasisat” He mentioned this attribute that they prefer others over themselves, even if they are poor. .
A Companion attended the service of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and reported the state of hunger and distress. The Holy Prophet sent men to his houses, but nothing was found, so the Holy Prophet said to the Companions, “There is someone who can accept their hospitality for one night.” An Ansari Sahabi said, O Messenger of Allah, I will be a guest. He took them home and told his wife that these are the guests of the Holy Prophet, who should pay homage to him as much as possible, do not neglect it, and do not hide anything. The wife said, “By God, for the sake of the children, there is a little food and nothing in the house.”
The Sahabi said, “Sleep the children and when they fall asleep, they will take food and sit with the guest, and you should not get up on the pretext of fixing the lamp.” So the wife did the same and both the husband and wife and the children spent the night starving. On which this verse was revealed. Translation: “And they prefer their lives even if they are hungry.” There are many incidents of this kind that happened to the Sahaba, so another similar incident is mentioned here. A Sahabi used to fast every day. Hazrat Thabit, an Ansari Companion, saw him. He said to his wife that I will bring a guest at night, when you start eating, you should put out the lamp to fix it and not eat until the guest’s stomach is full. So they did so, all participating as if they were eating. In the morning, when Hazrat Thabit (R.A.) appeared in the assembly of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said that the way you behaved with your guest that night was very pleasing to the Almighty.
Hazrat Anas ra says that Abu Talha ra Ansari was the owner of the biggest garden in Medina. He had a garden called Bir Hai, which was very dear to him, near the Prophet’s Mosque. The water was also very sweet and abundant in it. The Holy Prophet (pbuh) often visited this garden and drank its water. When the verse of the Holy Qur’an, translation: You cannot reach the perfect level of goodness, unless you spend on things that you like. When it was revealed, Abu Talha came to the service of the Holy Prophet and said that my garden Bir-Ha is dearest to me and Allah Almighty says that you should spend your beloved wealth in the way of Allah, so I give it in the way of Allah. Spend it as you see fit. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) expressed great joy and said, “It is a very good wealth. I think it is proper that you should distribute it among your relatives.” Abu Talha distributed it among his relatives.
Hazrat Abu Jahm bin Huzaifah (RA) says that in the battle of Yarmouk, I went in search of my cousin who was participating in the battle and I took a bottle of water with me that I might give him water if he was thirsty. Coincidentally, he was found lying at one place in such a state that he was dying and was dying. I asked for a sip of water. He gestured yes, while the other gentleman, who was near and was also near death, raised a sigh. My cousin heard the sound and signaled me to go to him. I took water to him. He was Hisham bin Abi Al-Aas, he had just reached him when a third person near him was dying in the same condition. He sighed. Hisham beckoned me to go to him. When I reached him with water, he had passed away. When he returned to Hisham, he too had been martyred. By the time he returned to his brother, he had also become a martyr. Many incidents of this type are often found in the books of Hadith. What is the limit of self-sacrifice when one’s brother is dying and thirsty, in such a situation it becomes difficult to pay attention to someone else, even if he leaves him thirsty and gives water to others, may Allah bless the souls of these martyrs. Bless with your pleasure and grace that even at the time of death, when all the senses and senses are answered, these souls give their lives in holy self-sacrifice and compassion.
Hazrat Hamza, the uncle of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was martyred in the Battle of Uhud and the infidels cut off his ears, nose, etc. After the end of the war, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and other Companions were searching for the bodies of the martyrs and making arrangements for the burial of the Qur’an. To see the condition of his brother.
Thinking that she was a woman, it would be difficult to bear to see such cruelty, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said to his son, Hazrat Zubair (R.A.), to forbid him from seeing his mother. Hazrat Zubair (R.A.) says that I quickly He moved to stop her, but she was strong, and told him to get out of the way. I said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has forbidden it, so she immediately stood up. After that he took out two clothes and said that I had brought them for my brother’s shroud because I had heard the news of his death. Bury him in these clothes. We people took those clothes and began to shroud Hazrat Hamzah as there was an Ansari martyr named Hazrat Sohail. We were ashamed that Hazrat Hamza should be shrouded in two cloths and the Ansari Sahabi did not have one. Therefore, we suggested one cloth for both of them, but one cloth was big and the other was small. . So We cast lots that the cloth that will come to the Jinn’s share should be put on their shroud.
In the lottery, the big cloth went to the share of Hazrat Sohail and the small one went to the share of Hazrat Hamza, who was shorter than his height, so that if the head was covered, the feet would be uncovered, and if it was placed towards the feet, the head would be uncovered. Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “Cover your head with a cloth and put leaves on your feet. This is the shroud of the uncle of the king of the two worlds. It is also in the same way that a woman gives two clothes for her brother. Not that the other Ansari Sahabi remained unshrouded. One cloth is distributed and then the smaller cloth goes to the person, who also has the privilege of priority for many reasons. If the claimants of poverty and equality are true in their claims, follow the powerful beings who say no. Rather, they were shown. Self-sacrifice can only be done by a person who has complete trust and confidence in his Lord, the result of generosity is that people love him, like him and become close to him. A believer who is generous gets exaltation and honor in this world and the hereafter. In the current situation, when the Muslims of the country and society are facing various problems, trials and tribulations and they are waiting for our help and assistance, then in such situations, the need for this matter is needed. It is that we follow the Sunnah of Muwakhat Madinah and help our poor, needy and distressed brothers to the fullest, so that this behavior of ours will lead to the closeness and pleasure of Allah and His Beloved Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa.
