This year maximum 56 people died in road accidents

2300 road accidents, 505 deaths, hundreds injured in 5 months this year
Like other parts of the country, life in Delhi is fast returning to normal after two years of the corona epidemic and road accidents are also increasing with the pace of daily activities. Delhi Police has released a similar figure saying that in the first 5 months of 2022, there has been a sharp increase in road accidents in the capital and more than 500 people have lost their lives. There have been 2,300 road accidents in the first five months. While 505 people have died in these accidents and more than 2152 people have been injured. According to official figures of Delhi Police, out of these 2,300 road accidents, 1,762 were general accidents, while 495 were serious accidents. It also gives district-wise statistics of accidents. According to the data, maximum 56 people died in road accidents in the Outer North district. While 50 people have died in the North-West district. 46 people died in South-West district and 45 in West district. At least 16 people lost their lives in these accidents in Shahdara, 19 in Central district and 21 in New Delhi, Rohini and South districts. While the maximum number of 222 accidents took place in the South East district. There were 192 accidents in South West and 191 in Outer North District, 186 in Western District. There have been at least 75 accidents in New Delhi. There have been 77 accidents in Shahdara, 100 in Rohini. South East district had the highest number of injured (211) and lowest number of injured (211). This number was recorded in Shahdara (63). According to Delhi Police data, there were 1,206 serious road accidents in the capital in 2021, in which 1,239 people died. The year 2021 saw an increase of 3.6 percent in road accidents as compared to the year 2020. In the year 2020, 1163 people died in road accidents. In the year 2020 and 2021, due to the corona epidemic, normal life came to a standstill for a long time and there was a decrease in accidents due to lack of industrial activities. The new type of corona also had to be stopped repeatedly. But after most of the activities normalized in the year 2022, the movement has increased. This is also believed to be one of the reasons for the increase in road accidents.
