Whatever is sold in the country will be made here: Rajnath Singh
New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India has opened doors for industrialists under the self-reliant country campaign, but the condition is that ‘whoever sells here, will sell here’. This policy will make India emerge as the strongest country in the world in the times to come. Addressing a function here on Friday, Shri Rajnath Singh said, “Today India has become the center of ‘Global Hope’. It has happened because of this. A lot of opportunities, a lot of options and a lot of openness in the country. India’s people, mind and entire system is a symbol of openness. Self-reliant India is the name of opening new doors with an open mind. Our doors are not closed but are opening ahead , provided the manufacturing takes place at home. Referring to India’s emergence as a major market, he said, “The opportunity available here is elsewhere. Not there. Our only request is that if you want to make any item for us, then make it in the country itself. Simply put, ‘what is sold in India will be made here’. He said that the prestige and respect that India has achieved in the world in the last eight and a half years is unmatched. I am confident that in the next ten years, India will overtake Japan to become the third largest economy in the world. I even believe that in the next 25 years, India will become the world’s biggest economic superpower. India will become a superpower where there will be knowledge as well as wealth. Blaming the parties which led the country at the time of independence, he said that they did not put the interest of the country first. He said that if the people in power of this country since independence had worked on the policy of putting the country first, India would have come in the category of a developed country decades ago.
